V2Ray WebSocket TLS Troubleshooting Checklist

Find common V2Ray WebSocket and TLS configuration mistakes by checking the host, port, path, SNI, client mode, and account status in order.

V2Ray WebSocket and TLS profiles can fail because of one small mismatch between the server page and the client. The fastest way to troubleshoot is to check the profile in a fixed order instead of changing several values at once. This guide focuses on configuration hygiene rather than promising that every public host will remain available.

Confirm the account and host first

Check that the account has not expired and that the hostname belongs to the same server page as the UUID or identifier. A correct VLESS or VMess identifier cannot help if it is paired with a hostname from another country or service.

Check the port and transport

Verify the port, network type, and WebSocket path exactly. A path is case-sensitive on some deployments, and an extra or missing slash can cause the handshake to fail. If the page specifies gRPC instead of WebSocket, use the matching transport rather than copying WebSocket fields into the profile.

Review TLS and SNI together

TLS normally requires the client to use the expected server name or SNI value. Do not substitute the IP address for the published domain unless the service specifically instructs you to do so. If the host uses plain WebSocket, disable TLS; if it uses TLS, confirm the port and domain are the pair shown on the server page.

Use one controlled test

  1. Import the original profile again.
  2. Check the account status and expiry.
  3. Verify host, port, protocol, and path.
  4. Verify TLS, SNI, and security mode.
  5. Change only one value before testing again.

When to choose another server

If the profile is correct but the host is offline, full, or repeatedly unavailable, move to another public server or country. Do not keep modifying a working-looking profile until it no longer resembles the service page. Save the original values privately so you can compare a new host without losing the known configuration.

Keep UUIDs, subscription links, and private keys out of screenshots or public support messages while troubleshooting.
